The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Ebola virus as an internationally recognized condition in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The outbreak of the Ebola virus, which has spread from West Africa to an epidemic in 2014-2016, has started this year in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

The former Health Minister has resigned from his post, criticizing the government's policy on the Congo virus. In addition, the latest report of the incident is Rwanda closing its border with the Democratic Congo.

Already this year more than 1,500 people have died in the Democratic Republic of Congo due to Ebola. Moreover, various conflicts, the refugee crises, and political instability in the region can be termed as obstacles to the control of the Ebola virus.

The Ebola epidemic that emerged in late 2018

The latest outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Congo begins again in August 2018 after the 2014-2016 period. It is first identified in the northern Kivu region. It also spreads to the Ituri region.

Only then will it expand to other areas. It is announced by the World Health Organization as an International Traditional Trauma on July 17, 2019. The United Nations Security Council states that it must continue to work to prevent the epidemic from spreading throughout the world.

The virus has spread from Democratic Congo to Uganda after 2019.

The United Nations has announced that the virus has already caused a large number of deaths and the number of unreported incidents is very high. The United Nations release said that although the epidemic is rampant, the information on health services is being kept under wraps.

Proceedings of the Democratic Congo

The Democratic Congo has not been successful in stopping the spread of the plague. This is because of the extreme poverty, political instability, and the conflicts between different tribes throughout the region.

However, the Minister of Health and the Ministry of Health has been tasked with preventing the spread of the Ebola virus for many years and the President of the country recently took over the responsibility. Health Minister Oli Ilunga has resigned from his post expressing opposition to the takeover.

As a result, the media has stated that the problems with the Ebola outbreak have doubled.

The risk of spreading to neighboring countries

The United Nations has announced that the virus has already spread to Uganda. As a result, Uganda has been designated as a high-risk country for the spread of the virus.

South Sudan, Burundi, and Rwanda, the other countries around the Democratic Republic of Congo, have been declared by the World Health Organization to be at risk of the spread of the virus. In addition, Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Central African Republic and the Republic of Congo are also at risk.

To prevent the spread of the virus, Rwanda has halted transport along the Rwanda-Democratic Republic of Congo.

The epidemic is spreading so rapidly. The World Health Organization (WHO) says that no clear treatment has been identified yet and there is no clear direction to address the issue.

The World Health Organization also notes that similar to the severe epidemic of 1976 and 2014, there is a high risk of developing it.
